Rifaat Eid is a prominent figure in the Alawite community of Northern Lebanon and serves as the political relations officer for the Democratic Arab Party. He is the son of Ali Yusuf Eid, a former Lebanese parliament member. Known for his significant support from the Alawite population, he received over 90% of their votes in the 2009 elections but did not win. In April 2014, a Lebanese military court issued an arrest warrant against him after he fled amid violence in the Tripoli area, with reports suggesting he may be in Syria.
