Rin Hamuro (January 25, 1951 - December 23, 2017) was a Japanese novelist born in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture, under his real name Yuji Motohata. He began writing at the age of 50, making a notable debut in 2005 with 'Kanzan Banshu.' He received several literary awards, including the 146th Naoki Prize for 'Higurashi no Ki' in 2012. Hamuro focused on historical novels that emphasized the perspectives of the marginalized and the weak, and he passed away at the age of 66 due to illness.
