Rina gained recognition after winning a special jury prize at the Senko Riot festival dedicated to teenage musicians in 2011. She was the first solo artist to debut as part of the PlayYou.House project, organized by Sony Marketing Japan and the Walkman brand. Her music is produced by Takahiro Jamada, the bassist of the alternative rock band Asian Kung-Fu Generation.
