Muthukutty Chandran, known as Ripper Chandran, was an infamously notorious Indian serial killer from Kerala, active between 1985 and 1986. He committed fourteen murders during robberies, targeting unsecured homes near highways and railway lines. His modus operandi involved killing victims with hammer blows, followed by robbing them. Ripper Chandran was also known for raping some of his female victims. Captured by police in February 1986, he was sentenced to death by hanging in 1987 and executed in 1991, marking him as Kerala's last person to face capital punishment.
