Risto Juhani Setälä (1924-2015) was a Finnish major general and deputy notary. He began his military career in the Suojeluskunta, participated in the Winter War, and served in the Continuation War. After completing his studies at various military academies, he took several leadership roles, culminating as the director of the War College. He also served as assistant director and eventually in public defense roles. He was active in the Finnish Military Sciences Society and contributed to military education until retiring in 1990.
