A member of the Republican Party, he was elected Vice Chairman of the South Carolina Freedom Caucus in 2021. However, he is currently under investigation by the Department of Homeland Security for potential involvement with Child Sex Abuse Material (CSAM), with authorities conducting a search of his home in August 2024. The investigation is ongoing.
