Robert Curbeam is a United States Navy officer, astronaut, and engineer born in 1962 in Baltimore, Maryland. He graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1980 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the United States Naval Academy in 1984. Curbeam holds two master's degrees in Aerospace Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School (1990, 1991). He is known for setting the record for the most spacewalks during a single spaceflight, completing four during the STS-116 mission. Curbeam is a member of the Naval Academy Alumni Association and the Old Crow Society.
