Robert Dassa, born on May 8, 1933, was one of the Cairo prisoners who spent 14 years in Egyptian prison for his involvement in Operation Susannah, also known as the Lavon Affair. He was released in a prisoner exchange after the Six-Day War. Following his return to Israel, he served in the Israel Defense Forces, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Dassa worked for many years as a journalist in the Arabic department of Israeli television. He resides in Ramat Hasharon and has three children and seven grandchildren.
