Robert Elmer Kleasen was an American convicted of murdering two missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1975 near Austin, Texas. Although his case has been inaccurately linked to the horror film The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Kleasen's conviction was overturned. He later moved to the United Kingdom, remarried, and faced imprisonment for gun violations. Kleasen passed away in the UK while contesting extradition to the US for a retrial related to the murder charges.
