Robert Gerald Hamerton-Kelly (December 26, 1938 - July 7, 2013) was a British theologian known for his work on violence, authoring and editing several books on the subject. He served as the Dean of the Stanford Memorial Church at Stanford University for 14 years and taught at the university for over 30 years. A prominent advocate of Rene Girard's theory of mimetic desire, Hamerton-Kelly dedicated his efforts to establishing institutions for the study of this theory and edited several significant works on the topic.
