Robert Stiles Harward, Jr. (born 1956 or 1957) is a retired officer from the Navy Seals and a former Deputy Commander of U.S. Central Command under General James Mattis. He is currently the Executive Director in the defense industry at Lockheed Martin. He previously served as Deputy Commander of the U.S. Joint Forces Command and was the Commander of Joint Task Force 435. Harward was offered the position of National Security Advisor by President Donald Trump on February 14, 2017, but declined the offer two days later, citing family commitments.
