Robert Houston (1935–2021) was an American photographer known for documenting the civil rights movement. He focused on significant events like Martin Luther King Jr.'s Poor People's Campaign, including the community of Resurrection City in Washington, D.C. After King's assassination in 1968, Houston became a full-time documentary photographer, contributing his work to Life magazine among others. Notably, his photographs from the Poor People's Campaign were largely unpublished due to the tumultuous period surrounding the assassinations of key figures. His work is now part of the Smithsonian's collection.
