Robert Paus Platt was a British diplomat and colonial administrator born in 1905. He was an undersecretary in the British Mandate of Palestine, serving as the deputy chief secretary, making him one of the highest-ranking officials in Mandatory Palestine. Platt died on July 22, 1946, during the King David Hotel bombing, becoming the highest-ranking British official killed in that attack. Before his role in Palestine, he worked at the Colonial Office in London and had extensive experience in the administration of the Kenya Colony.
