From the 1970s until his murder in 1992, he served as the superintendent of deliveries at the New York Post. He led a crew that controlled the circulation department of the newspaper, engaging in extortion, coercion, loan sharking, drug trafficking, and other illegal activities. His criminal activities drew the attention of law enforcement, leading to significant legal scrutiny.
