Roberto Albores Guillén is a Mexican politician born on February 10, 1943, in Comitán de Domínguez, Chiapas. An ex-member of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), he has held various public positions since 1967, including Director General at CONASUPO and Governor of Chiapas from 1998 to 2000. His governance was marked by controversy, especially following the Acteal massacre. He expanded road infrastructure and educational institutions in Chiapas. Albores was expelled from the PRI in 2006 for supporting an opposing candidate in the state gubernatorial elections.
