His World War II service in the RNVR earned him the Distinguished Service Cross. In peacetime, he became a lecturer at Cambridge and later the Managing Director of English Electric Aviation. Inskip played a significant role in establishing the British Aircraft Corporation and held various leadership positions, including Chairman of Delta Metal Company and Pro-Chancellor at Cranfield Institute of Technology. He passed away on September 20, 1999.
