Robin Kornman (1947-2007) was a prominent Tibetan Buddhist scholar and a founding member of the Nalanda Translation Committee. His significant work included an English translation of the Tibetan epic Gesar of Ling, which brought him considerable recognition. As a dedicated student of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, he co-directed Karmê Chöling, the first Shambhala Buddhist retreat in North America, established in 1970. Kornman earned his Ph.D. in Comparative Literature and published various translations and articles on Buddhism, also serving as a meditation instructor within the Shambhala Buddhist Community.
