Robert Harold (Robin) Stokes (1918–2016) was a prominent Australian chemist and Foundation Professor of Chemistry at the University of New England from 1955 to 1979. His research focused on solution thermodynamics and electrolytes. Born in England, he moved to New Zealand as a child and pursued his education at Auckland Grammar School and Auckland University, where he completed his BSc and MSc before earning a PhD from the University of Cambridge. Stokes had familial ties to the Anglo-Irish Stokes family.
