He grew up on the island of Ischia with eight siblings before moving to Rome in 1962 where he worked with notable designers. In 1964, he co-founded a company with Giles, lasting over a decade. Barocco opened his own showroom in Rome's Piazza di Spagna in 1974 and made his mark in haute couture with his first prêt-à-porter collection in 1979, solidifying his presence in the fashion industry.
