Rodney Douglas Dowhower (born April 15, 1943) is a former American football player and coach. He served as head coach at Stanford University, Vanderbilt University, and the Indianapolis Colts in the NFL. A Santa Barbara High School graduate, he excelled at San Diego State, and later worked as an assistant coach at several universities and NFL teams. Dowhower's coaching record includes stints as offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach in both college and professional football, marked by a challenging head coaching career in college and the NFL.
