Roderick Esquivel was a Panamanian liberal politician and physician, born on May 12, 1927, in Chiriquí Province and passed away on October 28, 2010, in Panama City. He studied at the Instituto Nacional de Panamá and earned a biology degree in Wisconsin, later becoming an obstetrician-gynecologist in Chicago in 1953. He served as the Minister of Labor, Social Security, and Public Health and was elected as the second Vice President of Panama from 1984 until 1988. Esquivel left the governing coalition during Noriega's regime due to political repression.
