Rodrigo Tovar Pupo, also known as Jorge 40 and Jorge Cuarenta, was a leader of the Northern Bloc of the paramilitary group Autodefensas Unidas de Colombia (AUC). He demobilized his force of 2,000 men on March 10, 2006, after 12 years of armed conflict. His activities included involvement in numerous murders and corruption scandals, impacting local governments. He faced accusations of orchestrating massacres and extorting health insurance companies in coastal regions. In May 2011, he was sentenced to 26 years in prison for the murder of Alfredo Correa de Andréis.
