Roelof de Jong Posthumus was a German writer born on May 19, 1914, in Leipzig. He was known by the pseudonym -rops-. His father was a violin virtuoso and his mother was related to composer Heinrich Marschner. He trained as an educator and worked as a teacher in Braunschweig. Posthumus was also active in literary circles, founding the German Unitarian Youth in 1947 and serving as editor for Heimatwarte in 1952. He was involved in the German Authors' Association and worked with youth protection boards until his death on December 17, 1985, in Braunschweig.
