He studied at the Chouinard Art Institute in the late 1930s and went on to work for Walter Lantz from 1944 to 1945. Armstrong had a prolific career as a comic book artist and writer, contributing to major franchises such as Warner Bros with characters like Porky Pig and Bugs Bunny, as well as Disney comics including Hiawatha, Little Wolf, and Donald Duck. He passed away on June 7, 2007.
