Roger Cantin is a Canadian screenwriter and film director from Quebec, born on December 29, 1949. He is best known for directing children's films, notably co-writing the screenplay for 'The Dog Who Stopped the War' in 1984. His directorial debut was in 1990 with 'Simon and the Dream Hunters'. While renowned for children's cinema, Cantin has also directed adult dramas, documentaries, and television projects. He garnered a nomination for a Genie Award for Best Original Screenplay for the film 'Matusalem' at the 15th Genie Awards in 1994.
