Roger Tumoana Leon Doom was a prominent French Polynesian politician, born in Papeete on February 15, 1935. He served as President of the Assembly of French Polynesia from March 1987 to May 1988 and was the first mayor of Vairao from 1972 to 2002. His political career in the Assembly spanned from 1972 to 2007. Doom received notable honors, including being appointed an Officer of the Order of Tahiti Nui in June 2000 and a knight of the Order of Agricultural Merit in March 2015. He passed away on September 16, 2016.
