Roger Frampton was an influential Australian jazz pianist, saxophonist, composer, and educator born on 20 May 1948. He significantly contributed to the development of jazz in Australia and played a key role in the Sydney jazz scene. As a dedicated educator, he taught at the Jazz Studies course at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and served as the Head of Jazz Studies in the late 1970s. His legacy in the Australian music community remains impactful even after his passing on 4 January 2000.
