His work evolved from destructive themes to vivid paintings integrating plant life and human forms. Notably active in exhibitions since 1954, Wittevrongel received numerous awards, including the 'Prix de la peinture jeune belge'. He currently resides in Bachte-Maria-Leerne, near Ghent, in East Flanders.
