Rolande Birgy, born on April 12, 1913, in Paris, France, and died on April 21, 2002, at the Villemin Hospital in Labruyère, was a French resistance fighter known as "Blue Beret" and later an anti-abortion activist. She was a member of the Jeunesse ouvrière chrétienne (JOC) around 1928, a member of the Sillon in the 1930s, and of the CFTC from 1929. She resigned from her job in 1940 when her employer began working for the Germans. During World War II, she helped rescue Jewish children from the Nazis and was recognized as a Righteous Among the Nations by Yad Vashem in 1983. After the war, she became a member of the Mouvement républicain populaire (MRP) and later a vocal opponent of abortion. She was a member of the SOS Tout-Petits association and a militant of the Front National.
