Carl Rolf Brahde (1918–2009) was a prominent Norwegian astronomer known for his contributions to celestial mechanics and astronomy education. He served in the Norwegian Campaign during WWII and was a member of a resistance group. After the war, he worked at the University of Oslo, where he helped establish the Harestua Solar Observatory and was an early adopter of computer technology in astronomy. He published popular science literature and contributed to media coverage of significant events like the Apollo 11 Moon landing. Brahde became a professor in 1987 and continued to work as a professor emeritus until his death.
