Rolf Martin Theodor Dahlgren was a Danish-Swedish botanist and professor at the University of Copenhagen from 1973 until his death in 1987. Born in Örebro, he graduated in botany from Lund University in 1963. He developed the Dahlgren system for classifying angiosperms, which emphasized more characteristics than previous systems and included chemotaxonomy. His work on monocots was published with H. T. Clifford and Peter Yeo. Dahlgren died in a car accident in Scania, Sweden. A plant genus, Dahlgrenodendron, is named in his honor.
