Roland Daniel Dotsch (1933-1988) was an influential American football coach, known for his role as the first head coach of the Birmingham Stallions in the USFL. A college football player at Michigan State, he contributed to the 1952 national championship team. Dotsch began his coaching career at Escanaba High School and later served as a defensive coordinator at Northern Michigan University. His NFL career included coaching the Green Bay Packers and the New England Patriots. Dotsch's tenure with the Stallions saw a successful record of 36–18 before he faced health challenges due to pancreatic cancer.
