Roman Vajs is a retired Slovak slalom canoeist born on November 18, 1974, in Liptovský Mikuláš. He competed internationally from 1990 to 2004, focusing on the C2 discipline. Vajs won two medals in the C2 team event at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships (silver in 1999 and bronze in 1993) and secured the overall World Cup title in 1998. He also obtained three medals at the European Championships. Vajs finished 13th in the C2 event at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. He partnered primarily with Roman Štrba until 2000.
