Romanus, also known as Balashchuk, is an archbishop of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, holding the title of Metropolitan of Vinnytsia and Bratslav. Prior to this role, he was an archbishop in the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church, serving as Metropolitan of Vinnytsia and Bratslav from 1990 to 1992 and from 1993 to 2018. He also held the position of Archbishop of Rivne and Ostroh under the Kyiv Patriarchate from 1992 to 1993, as well as for the Ecumenical Patriarchate starting in 2018.
