Ron Allum is an Australian submarine designer, cave diver, and inventor, born on March 22, 1949. Renowned as one of the world's most experienced cave divers, he led a record-setting expedition in 1983 into Cocklebiddy Cave. Collaborating with James Cameron, he created a fiber-optic link for a 2005 Titanic broadcast and designed the Deepsea Challenger submarine, which reached the deepest part of the Mariana Trench in 2012. Allum also appeared as himself in a 2019 episode of the children's show Go Jetters, showcasing exploration of the Mariana Trench.
