Ronald A. Rohrer is an American computer scientist and electrical engineer who was a pioneer in integrated circuit simulation during the 1960s. He received his bachelor's degree from MIT in 1960 and went on to earn a master's and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from UC Berkeley. Rohrer held various academic positions, including professorships at the University of Illinois and Carnegie Mellon University. He collaborated on the development of SPICE, a widely used simulation tool, and is known for the AWE algorithm that improved circuit simulation efficiency. He is an IEEE Life Fellow and National Academy of Engineering member.
