Ronald Joseph "Butch" DeFeo, Jr. was an American murderer born on September 26, 1951, and died on March 12, 2021. He was convicted for the murder of his family members, including his parents and four siblings in 1974. His case became infamous and inspired the book and film series known as The Amityville Horror. DeFeo passed away while serving his sentence for these crimes.
