Sir Ronald Frank Hobson was a British entrepreneur, business-owner, and philanthropist, born on January 4, 1921, in Edmonton, London. After serving in the Second World War, he capitalized on post-war opportunities by establishing car parks in bombed-out areas of London. Alongside Donald Gosling, he co-founded Central Car Parks and later acquired National Car Parks, significantly expanding their business. They sold NCP for £801 million in 1998. Hobson was known for his philanthropy, particularly in supporting maritime projects and royal events, and was appointed Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order in 2006.
