Ronny Lynn Jackson is an American physician and rear admiral in the U.S. Navy, who has served as the physician to the President of the United States since 2006. He was first appointed as the President's doctor on July 25, 2013, by President Barack Obama and continued in that role under President Donald Trump after his election in 2016. Jackson is expected to be nominated as Secretary of Veterans Affairs. He was nominated by President Trump on March 28, 2018, to succeed David Shulkin in that position.
