Ronold W. P. King (1905-2006) was an American applied physicist renowned for his contributions to antenna theory. Born in Williamstown, Massachusetts, he studied physics at the University of Rochester and later earned his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. King held various academic positions, including professor at Harvard University, where he became the Gordon McKay Professor of Applied Physics. His work included the development of cylindrical radio and microwave antenna theory and the invention of the PIF antenna used in mobile devices. He was recognized as a Fellow of several prestigious organizations.
