Roohallah Jomei is an Iranian politician and journalist who served as Deputy Minister of Interior and advisor to the Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He was also the Deputy Director of the Islamic Republic News Agency. Jomei claimed that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the Iranian presidential palace requested him to announce Ahmadinejad's victory in the 2009 presidential election before the polls closed. He stated that 23% of protesters during the 2019-20 Iran protests were shot at close range and mentioned oil quota knowledge amongst some members of the parliament's national security and foreign policy committees.
