Rosa Sophia Cornelia Nepgen was a South African composer born on December 12, 1909, in Barkly-Oos, Cape Colony. She is best known for her compositions that set Afrikaans poems to music for voice and piano. A significant portion of her works includes numerous songs with lyrics by her husband, W.E.G. Louw, and his brother, the poet N.P. van Wyk Louw. Nepgen passed away on February 14, 2000, in Stellenbosch, South Africa.
