She represented the Vaucluse electorate, serving as Deputy Opposition Leader from 1983 until her retirement. Foot was born in Cowra, New South Wales, and is notable as the great-granddaughter of Sir John See, an influential figure who introduced the Women's Franchise Act in 1902.
