Marshal of the Air Force W. D. M. J. Roshan Goonetileke is a distinguished Sri Lankan senior air force officer who has held multiple commanding positions, including Commander of the Sri Lankan Air Force from 2006 to 2011 and Chief of the Defence Staff in 2009. Born to notable military lineage, he initially served as a pilot and later held significant operational roles. Goonetileke was the first to achieve the rank of Marshal in the Sri Lanka Air Force upon his return to active service in 2019. He is currently the Governor of the Western Province of Sri Lanka.
