Ross Grange Penlington was a notable Court of Appeal Judge in Hong Kong and commanded the Royal Hong Kong Auxiliary Air Force from 1975 to 1983. Born on March 3, 1931, in Christchurch, New Zealand, he was educated at various institutions, obtaining an LLB in 1955. Penlington was also recognized for his fair judgments as Chairman of the Hong Kong Air Transport Licensing Authority. After retiring in 1995, he moved back to New Zealand, where he lived until his death in 2001. He was survived by his wife and two daughters.
