Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi is a Nigerian politician born on May 27, 1965. He served as Nigeria's Minister of Transportation from 2015 to 2022 and previously as the Governor of Rivers State from 2007 to 2015. He was also the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 1999 to 2007. In April 2022, Amaechi announced his candidacy for the presidency in the 2023 elections, ultimately finishing second in the All Progressive Congress primaries, receiving 316 votes compared to Bola Tinubu's 1271 votes.
