Roy Kennedy, Baron Kennedy of Southwark, born on November 9, 1962, is a British Labour politician and Life Peer. He became a full-time party official in 1990 and served as a party organizer in Coventry starting in 1991. Kennedy played a role in the defeat of the Trotskyist MP Dave Nellist during the 1992 General Election. He later became the Regional Director in the East Midlands from 1997 to 2005. He was appointed as a Life Peer in the House of Lords in June 2010 and served as an Electoral Commissioner from October 2010.
