Roy McCurdy is an American jazz drummer born on November 28, 1936. He studied at the Eastman School of Music and became a member of Cannonball Adderley's quintet in 1965, staying with the group until Adderley's death a decade later. Throughout his career, he collaborated with many notable musicians including Bobby Timmons, Joe Zawinul, Sonny Rollins, Gene Ammons, and Count Basie. From 1976 to 1977, he performed with the band Blood, Sweat & Tears, and he has also engaged in educational activities.
