Ruben Matevosyan is an Armenian singer, composer, folk song performer, and pedagogue, born on January 12, 1941, in Hamamlı. He became a People's Artist of the Armenian SSR on March 2, 1978, and has performed in over 60 countries, giving more than a thousand concerts. He has been recognized with several awards for his contributions to music, including the Mesrop Mashtots Order in 2011, the Order of Honor in 2016, and became an honorary citizen of Yerevan in 2015.
