Rudi Mädler was a German general in the National People's Army (NVA) of the German Democratic Republic. Born on November 17, 1927, in Littmitz, he served as the Chief of the Dresden Military District Command from 1976 to 1988. Prior to that, he was the commander of the Motorized Rifle Regiment MSR-18 of the NVA from 1968 to 1976. Mädler passed away on December 9, 2020, in Dresden.
